Backlot Sports
In a tribute to the legacy left behind at the Oakland Coliseum, this hat is both a tribute to the concrete palace and a reminder of what it means to be committed. The Coliseum, also shaped as in an “O” is the roots behind the concept of the Outtakes baseball team.
The difference between the former baseball team that played at the Coliseum and the Outtakes is that one is a real team, and the other was made up and became real through Little League. One was great and ended in lies, the other became real, committed to authenticity and commitment to its community.
The Outtakes O is a combination of many ideas. If you look closely you may see home plate. You would be correct. Maybe you see a baseball glove. Also correct. Do you see the baseball to cut out the center of the “O”?
Outtakes are the bloopers or mess-ups you see in movies. They may play during the end credits, or back in the home video era of DVDs and BluRays you may have found them in the special features menu. Knowing the movie influence behind the Outtakes you may notice the top of the “O” looking strikingly similar to the roof of a sound stage that live on the backlot of a movie studio.
Outtakes is a combination of passion around movies and sports.
Proceeds from this collection will be donated to Rosemont Little League – the origin and home of the original Outtakes baseball team.
